Discover Mount Ellis Academy

Life is packed with adventure. Shouldn’t education be, too? We’ve been teaching students in grades 9-12 since 1902, so we’ve got a lot of history and experience inside and outside of the classroom. As the #2 ranked best private high school in Montana, we are a small school under a very big sky. We’re a diverse bunch, and we’re proud of our similarities and our differences. Welcome to Mount Ellis Academy. You’ll like it here.

Academics

Great teachers and interesting classes are the core of what makes out academic program outstanding. An MEA education will prepare for the academic, spiritual, and life challenges you will face in college and beyond. We start with a rigorous academic curriculum. Then we integrate our thoughtful religion and ministry program. Plus, you’ll find an excellent mix of sports, arts, music, science, and history.

Student Life

Hoping for more than the average high-school experience? At MEA we believe that education shouldn’t be limited to the classroom. That’s why we begin every school year with an outdoor school adventure either at Glacier National Park, Grand Teton National Park, or canoeing the Missouri River in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark. We believe in Jesus’ Great Commission – and we take it literally. Mount Ellis students regularly get out into the community, state, country, and world to be Jesus’ hands and feet. We cheer, we scream, we jump around. We play soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, and more. Our music groups are known for bringing music to our campus, local churches, and on tour across the great state of Montana and beyond. Our students experience God and find their place in the world through spiritual retreats, weeks of prayer, daily chapels, and more.
