Georgia-Cumberland Academy

To Know. To Love. To Serve.

GCA is a Seventh-day Adventist boarding high school located in Northwest Georgia that is dedicated to preparing students for their future, both spiritually and academically. We endeavor to pursue our mission—"to know, to love, to serve"—in the context of a positive Christian environment that emphasizes spiritual growth; commitment to academic integrity; respect for God and others; and a healthy, active lifestyle. We’re a family who worships, learns, plays, creates, and works together.

At GCA, we're a family!

From classes to special events and extracurricular activities to spiritual programs, our students and staff love spending time together! The GCA Experience is unique to each student, and yet there’s a core message that’s woven through each student’s time at GCA—they became part of a family and they grow in ways they never thought they would! In addition to forming lasting relationships with each other, connecting with God is at the core of who we are as a school. From mission trips to weeks of prayer to small group activities, worship and service are foundational to the GCA Experience.

GCA encourages musical expression!

At GCA, we believe that a holistic education includes a strong fine arts program that allows you to creatively express yourself. GCA has a variety of musical groups, including Camerata, Concert Band, Magnify Worship, and Sinfonietta. In addition to leading worship on campus, Magnify Worship’s students write and record original music and cover songs that can be found on all major music streaming platforms and on their dedicated YouTube channel, which features music videos, lyric videos, and other ministry resources. All the musical groups provide music on campus, in addition to touring to areas churches and schools throughout the year. If music isn’t your forte, but you enjoy drawing, painting, photography, or videography, you can join art class, yearbook, or media productions.

GCA promotes a healthy lifestyle!

At GCA, we believe that your success in school should be more than academic. We believe that building strong bodies helps to build strong minds. We promote a healthy lifestyle through physical activity, whether it’s working out in the weight room, playing varsity sports, participating in Acroflyers, or enjoying friendly intramural competition. The Acroflyers gymnastics team has a long history at GCA, starting with the team’s founding in 1968, and is known for its excellence. In regard to varsity sports, GCA has men’s and women’s soccer teams, men’s and women’s basketball teams, and a women’s volleyball team. The school also has a very active intramural program that engages students of all skill levels in softball, flag football, soccer, floor hockey, volleyball, and basketball. In addition to the intramural schedule, classes compete against each other in sports “mania” events throughout the year.
